Welcome to the group formerly known as Plastic Free Devizes. Plastic is not our only pollution problem. We need to take a fresh look at waste and the disposability of all materials, and address our patterns of consumption. We need to move away from a linear Take-Make-Waste economy and embrace more circular solutions. Swap, don’t Shop. Borrow, don’t Buy. Repair, Reuse and Refill.
We’re on a mission to help Devizes become a zero waste community. We’ll be talking to local businesses, working with local schools, engaging with the Council and organising community events, so keep an eye out for us!

Book & Toy Swaps
A fab opportunity to swap instead of shop, families have been loving our Book & Toy Swap events. Clear a bit of space in that over-cluttered toy box, take home something “new” for the kids to enjoy, and reduce waste at the same time. It’s a win-win-win. 2nd hand definitely doesn’t mean 2nd best. We have books for all ages (including adults!) alongside the toys too, so there’s something for everyone.
Sustainable Swaps Guide
To really tackle our waste problem, we need systems change, from governments and corporations. However, there are swaps we can all make at home, away from single-use and towards reuse, that can save you money, reduce waste, and often just offer a better experience.
We have a collection of items that we display at events, including a new selection of reusable period and personal care products that we acquired with a grant from Wessex Water’s Environment Fund (thanks so much to Wessex Water!).
